Barton Community College Automotive Technology Instructor Ron Kirmer accepts a retirement brick from Dean of Workforce Training and Community Education Kathy Kottas. Kirmer spent 20 years teaching at Barton. His first act as a retiree will be to clean out the garage to work on restoring a few 1967 and 1968 Ford Mustangs. He also plans to do some light traveling. “Working with the students was the best part of my career at Barton,” he said. “It was always fun to see the lights turn on for students who applied themselves and were there for a reason.”
