Local lovebirds can send a Valentine’s Day message to their special someone via song with the Barton Community College Music Department’s “Love-You-Gram” fundraiser. Members of various music groups will travel the area on Valentine’s Day for donations to serenade unsuspecting significant others with love-inspired tunes as well as deliver other goodies.
Love-You-Gram Options:
- Pick-A-Love-Song (choose one of the following songs) - $25
- Unchained Melody, That’s What Friends are For, or I Can’t Help Falling in Love
- Delivery Add-ons (can be ordered without purchasing a song)
- Cupcakes, Valentine’s Card, and a Balloon - $20
- Chocolates, Valentine’s Day Card, and a Balloon - $18
- Two Heart Shaped Coasters - $12
- Mini-Bag of Chocolates and a Balloon - $5 on campus, $10 off-campus
- Ultimate package includes Pick-A-Love-Song and all add-ons and an emailed picture of your loved one with the performers! - $100
Director of Instrumental Activities Dr. Luis Palacios said running music programs are very costly and the department wanted to come up with a lighthearted, but effective way to raise funds.
“There are so many expenditures that we often need more money than is in our annual budgets, so this is a way to help pay for travel, costumes, musical literature, instruments and more,” he said. “Anybody can get flowers, but to be serenaded by our talented musicians is next-level.”
