The Barton Dance Theatre dancers will help you freshen up your ride! They will be hosting a carwash fundraiser from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Eagle Tire, 2001 10th Street in Great Bend. Funds earned will go towards defraying travel expenses to attend the Kansas Dance Festival in Wichita.

Performing Arts Dance Instructor and Coordinator Danika Bielek said Barton Dance Theatre is excited to be part of the Kansas Dance Festival, which takes place November 22 and 23 at Wichita State University.

“This dance event for college and university dance programs is a two-evening concert showcasing dancers from these schools,” she said. “Last year we were the only community college invited, which was quite an honor to have our two-year students present with students from our state’s university programs in such an artistic, non-competitive environment.

Bielek said the students will also take part in a series of dance technique classes from top-notch instructors.

“This fundraiser is a vital piece to helping our students experience this great opportunity that will positively impact their lives,” she said.
