Due to COVID-19, the 33rd Annual Corrosion Control Seminar is taking on a new format and will be held virtually.  

Barton Coordinator of Workforce Training Projects and Events, Krystall Barnes says the convention is ideal for all industry personnel, regardless of experience level. 

33rd Annual Corrosion Control Seminar 
Tuesday - Thursday, March 23 - 25, 2021
Seminar:  12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Speaker Social:  3:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Price is $125 per person.

Speakers from the corrosion industry will be presenting on current industry topics.

9 Professional Development hours will be granted to participants who attend all 3 days.

Each day will consist of three 1-hour Track II Sessions, via Zoom, and a speaker social with door prizes at the end of each day's sessions. Sessions include:

Tuesday March 23rd

12:30-1:30 p.m.   Jordan Groody w/ Bass Engineering “DC Interference and Influence:  You’re Doing Interruption All Wrong”

1:30-2:30 p.m.  Jamey Hilleary w/Elecsys: “Data Acquisition for compliance with NACE SP21424 AC Interference Standard”

2:30-3:30 p.m.   Bria Kask w/Lake Superior Consulting: “The Mega Rule and Its’ Impact on Operators”

3:30-4:00 p.m. Breakout Room Social for discussion/Q&A/networking w/3 rooms (1 for each presenter)


Wednesday March 24th

12:30-1:30 p.m.  Tim Bechtel w/Dairyland: “Introduction to Decouplers”

1:30-2:30 p.m.  Steven Wenzel w/Lake Superior Consulting “A Robust Casing IM Program”

2:30-3:30 p.m.  Jordan Groody w/Bass Engineering “Soil Side Cathodic Protection for Above-grade Storage Tanks” 

3:30-4:00 p.m. Breakout Room Social for discussion/Q&A/networking w/3 rooms (1 for each presenter)


Thursday March 25th

12:30-1:30 p.m.  Mike Ames w/Chapman Engineering: “AC Mitigation and Field Tests”

1:30-2:30 p.m. Cal Chapman w/Chapman Engineering: “How to Mitigate AC Power on Pipelines”

2:30-3:30 p.m.  Tom Pickthal w/Enhance Co: “Field Water Chemistry and Why It Is Important for Pipeline Integrity”

3:30-4:00 p.m. Breakout Room Social for discussion/Q&A/networking w/2 rooms (1 for Tom and 1 for Cal/Mike)

The Introductory Corrosion training and testing will not be available this year.
