As of Tuesday, September 9th, the drought monitor report indicates no change except the little bit of increased in North Central and Northeast Kansas.
The Shafer Art Gallery, in collaboration with artist Brian Hutchinson, is reviving a selection of printing plates created by historic Kansas printmaker Orlin C. Baker.
Fueled by her desire to care for animals large and small, recent Barton Community College at Fort Riley student Brittani Nelson knew that getting her associate degree while on active duty was the best way to save time and money in pursuing her dream job as a veterinarian.
The proceeds from items sold, underwriters, program ads, and ticket sales netted more than $60,000 at the 46th Annual Barton Foundation’s Big Benefit Auction on Aug. 23, which will benefit students directly through scholarships and program enhancements at Barton Community College.
Barton’s Fine and Performing Arts faculty will come together for a special collaborative event showcasing their talents through live performances and displayed art pieces inspired by their colleague’s creative work at 5 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
