The Shafer Gallery will host a reception for its “Terra Et Intus” exhibit from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 12 in the Gallery and will feature light refreshments and a talk by artist and Barton Art Instructor Mark Freeman. The exhibit opens April 5 and runs through April 20.
"Dancing with the Cougars" will continue with another dance class for the community featuring a swing dance class from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. April 12 in Studio 34, and all proceeds will go to support Barton Dance Theatre's trip to dance in New York City.
Barton Community College will host student recitals at 5 p.m. April. 4 and May 2 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel in the Fine Arts Building.
Barton Theatre is thrilled to announce its immersive “Theatre Day,” filled with insight, auditions, workshops, and camaraderie from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 in the Fine Arts Auditorium, which will focus on both technological and performance aspects of this exciting field.
Barton Community College will be closed March 29 and April 1 for Easter break. Barton's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery will also be closed. The college's regular class schedule and office hours will resume April 2.
The Barton Foundation aims to enhance the Barton student experience with its 14th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot fundraiser from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., April 21 at Camp Aldrich, 884 NE 110 Ave. in Claflin. The money raised is used for Faculty Mini-Grants, which Barton faculty members can use to enhance student learning experiences in their classrooms. The Foundation has awarded $152,459 in mini-grants to date.
