Those wanting to help a great cause and catch some exciting basketball action will have the opportunity to do both as part of Barton’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter’s Food Drive from 2-5:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Kirkman Gym during the Cougar basketball games, and those bringing five items or more will gain free entry.

Barton Community College will host an informational fair about a new statewide education apprenticeship program created by the Kansas Department of Education (KSDE) from 6:30-8 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the Cavanaugh Room in the Barton Library, and a virtual fair will be held Feb. 26.

Today, in the doldrums of February and heading into March, let’s briefly discuss what causes all plants, but especially our crop plants to flower.  It’s more complicated than you might imagine.
