Sacha Sanguinetti is in his 10th season as the radio play-by-play voice for the Barton Cougars. He took over as “Voice of the Cougars” during the 1999-2000 season.
Sanguinetti, a native of Kodiak Alaska, began his broadcast career with KSRM radio covering local high school athletics on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. In 1996, he made the unprecedented move from the “Last Frontier” to Northwest Kansas, where he attended broadcast school at Colby Community College and served as the Sports Information Director.
In June of 1998, Sanguinetti accepted a job with Eagle Communications as a sales representative and play-by-play announcer, the position he currently holds. He covered Hoisington High School football and basketball for one year before taking on the Barton duties. He has collected numerous awards during his sports broadcasting career, including two first place Kansas Association of Broadcasters play-by-play awards, and the “Oscar Stauffer Sportscaster Award” from the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
Sanguinetti has four children Morgan, Rylan, Keelan, and Shelby. He and his wife Desirae resides in Great Bend.
