Bwalya had a stellar Barton career, helping the Cougars qualify for the NJCAA National Championships, where Barton earned runner-up for its effort. During his two seasons at Barton, Bwalya finished in the Top 10 singles and Top 4 doubles in the NJCAA national polls and earned himself two All-American titles.

In the fall of 2002, he moved on the Washburn University where he played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Ichabods. He earned All-Conference and All-Region accolades in singles and doubles. His highest ranking at the NCAA Division II level was No. 45 singles and No. 20 in doubles.

Before taking over the reigns of Barton’s men’s and women’s tennis programs, Bwalya was a Graduate Assistant with the Ichabods from 2004-05.

A native of Mufulira, Zambia, Bwalya is a member of the USTA and certified Associate Professional by the United States Professional Tennis Registry.
