Dance
Dance tryouts are held on an individual basis. An appointment needs to be
set up with the head or assistant coach prior to try out. For tryouts we ask
each person to bring a 1 ½ minute long routine that highlights their
strengths as a dancer. In addition we also would like to see a toe touch,
double pirouette,
and a grand jete (split leap). These elements can either be incorporated into
the dance routine or done separately.
If interested in attending Barton County Community College as a member of the
dance team you are invited to attend "Optionals." On Monday and Wednesday
from 7-9 p.m. an optional practice is held. Current members, newly signed members,
and young dancers interested in the program are invited to attend. At the practice,
you can work privately with the assistant coach and dance team captains on the
technique you will be learning as a member of the team. All are encouraged to
attend.
