"Barton has very friendly people which create a welcoming atmosphere. The campus is very clean with nice dorms. There are plenty of ways to pay for college through academic awards, performance awards, and on campus jobs!"
-Marcie Latham, 2009 Graduate, Wakefield, KS
"Every single teacher that I have worked with at Barton has made me feel welcomed. Barton has become my second home and now I wouldn't change my choice for anything. Go Cougars!
-Jared Marcuson, 2009-2010 Student Body Vice President, Oberlin, KS
"Coming to Barton from Vietnam was a good experience for me. I made a lot of good friends and had a wonderful tennis coach. All of my instructors were helpful and I found some awesome host parents. Barton helped me to learn a new language and be a part of a new culture. This amazing college has become my second family."

Employees That Make a Difference
Below is excerpts from The Barton Difference. Each year graduating sophomores are asked to nominate College employees who made a difference in their experience at Barton. The employees and selections from the nominations are included in a publication distributed at graduation.
Shanna Legleiter
Shanna was my adviser and instructor for several of my classes. She was a great encouragement to me in both capacities. As an adviser she helped me determine which courses I needed. She cheered me on to complete my degree at a time when I was considering giving up. Shanna is also an excellent instructor. Her positive, enthusiastic attitude made learning enjoyable. Her dedication to teaching is obvious by the way she presents the lessons, outlines class expectations and responds to questions. Returning to school at my stage in life was not an easy endeavor, but I give credit to Shanna for helping me achieve this goal.

Karyl White
Karyl is one of the best instructors I have ever had. She was so patient with me when I was confused on what we were learning. She was always there to help. If it was 6 a.m. or midnight, she was always answering her phone to help a student or explain what you were confused on. Karyl is an amazing, smart, kind-hearted person. She pushed me because she believed in me. I will be a better paramedic because of Karyl White. I hope someday I will be half the medic and woman she is. I would never have made it through paramedic school without her help and her pushing me. I was very lucky to have Karyl as my instructor.

Kathy Boeger
Kathy Boeger made college fun. She is a great teacher who cares about her students. She is more like a mom at college. If you are having a bad day or have something on your mind, she just knows. She helped me figure out my life after Barton.

Steve Dudek
Barton was the best choice for me to make after graduating high school. Here I had the best teacher, Steve Dudek. Because of Steve, I found my passion for art. He gave me the confidence and guidance I needed to pursue art as a major. Steve has been my teacher, my mentor, and my friend. Barton is lucky to have someone like Steve as part of its faculty. I will never forget him.
