The Honors Program is designed to promote an enriched academic experience for talented, intellectually curious, motivated, and ambitious students of outstanding academic ability who welcome an intellectual challenge.
Through a well-designed curriculum developed by Barton faculty, students participating in the Honors Program will have the opportunity to more fully develop their academic talents. Honors courses emphasize critical thinking, analytical writing, speaking, the reading and discussion of primary source material, information literacy, research skills, and greater depth of understanding. Working in close collaboration with their peers and their instructors, students in the Honors Program will experience a strong sense of community.
