Pre-Medical Technology

The Pre-Medical Technology curriculum is designed to transfer to a four-year school to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Upon completion of the required classes at Barton, students will be awarded the Associate of Science Degree. Afterwards, a 12 to 18 month internship in a school of medical technology is required. In Kansas, laboratories accredited to provide this internship are in Wichita and Kansas City. Medical technologists work for hospitals, laboratories, clinics, public health facilities, diagnostics, and biotech companies.
