Welcome to the Barton County Community College Planetarium home page. The planetarium offers astronomical programs free of charge as a public service. Constructed at the same time as Barton County Community College and located inside the Science and Math building, the planetarium is a 40 foot dome theater with 66 seats. The planetarium is equipped with a Spitz A4 star projector capable of recreating the night sky in amazing detail. Supplementing the star projector is a host of slide and special effect projectors controlled by an automated computer system that combine to make each presentation an astronomical multimedia event. Planetarium programs are available to the general public through a series of public presentations offered during the academic year from September to May. The planetarium is available throughout the year for private astronomy presentations for school field trips, scout troop visits, summer camp outings, and anyone else interested in bringing a group. |
