Degree Plan

Intent to Enroll Form
Visiting VA Students

Information may be obtained from the Veterans Administration Office in Wichita, 1-800-827-1000 to verify individual eligibility and requirement to apply. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, Barton County Community College, Fort Riley Campus, will assist you in processing the necessary form(s).

Chapter 30- Montgomery GI Bill
VA Form 22-1990 (first time applying)- The application can be submitted online via the VA website http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-22-1990-ARE.pdf. A copy of the application must be submitted to the Barton Community College, Fort Riley Campus for a file to be created and maintained.

*Out-of-service students must submit a certified copy of a DD-214, member 4 copy to accompany the application.

*Active duty students must have the application signed by an Education Counselor or Commanding Officer prior to submitting the application.

*VA Form 22-1995 (change of program/place of training)- The application can be submitted online via the VA website http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-22-1995-ARE.pdf. A copy of the application must be submitted to the Barton Community College, Fort Riley Campus for a file to be created and maintained.

Payment
Students that are enrolled must complete a monthly verification to the VA verifying that the enrollment status has not changed. Verification can be done by calling 1-877-823-2378 or visiting https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/index.do . VA does not pay the school directly. Balances must be paid in full prior to the next enrollment period. Payment can be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card.

*Out-of-service students are required to pay 25% of their total tuition and fees at the time of enrollment.

*Active duty students are not required to pay at the time of enrollment.

Chapter 31- Vocational Rehabilitation
Students must contact the Veterans Administration Office in Wichita, 1-800-827-1000 for guidance to apply for this benefit. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, please submit a VA Form 28-1905 to the Barton Community College, Fort Riley Campus.

Payment
CH 31 students are not required to pay a percentage of the tuition at the time of enrollment, however, if the VA Form 28-1905 has not been received than payment is due in full.

Books
Visit www.bartonline.org and scroll for the heading Financial Aid/Vocational Rehabilitation Book Order Assistance: submit the information listed to the link provided.

Transcripts
Students are required to submit unofficial transcripts from each school attended prior to the VA Certification. Unofficial transcripts may want to accompany VA Applications to avoid any delay in certification. Official transcripts must be submitted by the second session of attendance. VA Certification will be denied if transcripts are not received.

Degree Plan
Students utilizing their VA benefits must be pursuing a degree with Barton Community College. Courses must be taken in accordance with the degree plan, or certification to the VA cannot occur. Please check with your assigned advisor, Kandi LeClear, for clarification.

Intent to Enroll Form
Each time enrollment is completed the Intent to Enroll (ITE) form must submitted for VA certification. Certification will be done when the classes have begun. Visit http://www.bartonccc.net/forms/veterans/veterans_enrollment.htm. Each session/cycle/term must be on separate forms.

Visiting VA Students
A parent school letter must be submitted if students are not degree seeking with Barton Community College. The letter must be submitted on letterhead with signature. Assistance can be provided by contacting the Fort Riley Campus at 877-620-6606

Chapter 33-Post 9/11

VA Form 22-1990 (first time applying)- The application can be submitted online via the VA website http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-22-1990-ARE.pdf. A copy of the application must be submitted to the Barton Community College, Fort Riley Campus for a file to be created and maintained.

Certificate of Eligibility

 Once the VA has processed the application, students will receive a certificate of eligibility (COE). A copy of the COE must be submitted to the Fort Riley Campus. Certification cannot be done without the COE.

Payment

 CH 33 students are not required to pay any percentage of the tuition if they have been awarded 100% entitlement-see certificate of eligibility for entitlement. However, if the entitlement is less than 100%, the student is responsible for the percentage that is not covered at the time of enrollment.
