The Hazardous Materials & Emergency Services Training Institute, (HMESTI) located off exit 299 I-70 in Grandview Plaza, Kansas was officially established October 2008. The institute is home to Barton Community Colleges’  Hazardous Materials, Occupational Safety and Health, Emergency Management , Motorcycle Safety Training,  Emergency  Medical Services and Military On-Site Training Programs.

The institute provides several degree and certificate programs as well as customized on and off-site training.  The institute serves not only the local community but organizations across the state as well as 12 other states.  Organizations that have used our services include:
