Barton students have up to three electronic venues available to them to support their educational paths.
PAWS - Students can log into their accounts which give students 24/7 web access to their own student information.
Cougar E-mail - Every Barton student is assigned an email account to receive important and time sensitive information about financial aid, advisement, enrollment, and billing, as well as communication from instructors.
E-Companion and Bartonline classes - Educational opportunities as well as access to online course components for all hybrid and most face-to-face courses.
Cougar Text - "Be in the Know"...sign up for Cougar text messaging! Opportunity to receive school closing, student activities, and other notifications directly to your cell phone.

Student E-mail
Your instructors, financial aid, business office, housing and other campus departments will use this address to contact you with official information.
Directions on how to access your Student E-mail
You will need to know your Barton email address and your Barton ID. You may locate your Barton email address and your Barton ID by logging into your PAWS account.
- In PAWS, select Personal Information/View Email Addresses - to verify your bartoncougars.org email address.
- Also in PAWS/Personal Information/View Email Addresses, you may verify your Barton ID. Your Barton ID is the grouping of numbers before your name in the upper right part of the screen. (there are lots of other ways to see your Barton ID. This is just one way.)
To access the e-mail site, go to http://email.bartoncougars.org
User name: the combination of your first name and last name and any other characters that precede the @bartoncougars.org domain name.
Password: BartonID (your 9 digit ID number as verified in PAWS)
This is the official e-mail address that Barton Community College will use to contact you. Your instructors, financial aid, business office, housing department etc. will use this address.
Student E-mail FAQ's
- If you cannot get into your PAWS account, contact Enrollment Services on campus at ext. 252. If you are calling from off campus, call (620) 792-9252.
- For help with e-mail, contact computerhelp@bartonccc.edu or from on campus call ext. 100. If you are calling from off-campus, please call (620) 786-1100.
- Your username is the combination of your first name and last name and any othercharacters that preceed the @barton cougars.org domain name in your email address. (example: John Smith's email address may be johnw3.smith@bartoncougars.org. His user name would be johnw3.smith)
- Your banner id is a replacement for your social security number that is safer to use, however, you need to remember when using your banner id that it is 9 characters long, the same as your social security number. Remember to put enough zeros in front to equal 9 characters.
- Each Monday morning all new students are uploaded to the email system and accounts are created.
- Faculty and staff can use PAWS to look up student's email addresses. Login and go to Faculty Services - Student Information Menu - Student Email addresses - Submit Term - then search by name or ID.
