TILT : Training in Information Literacy Techniques is a tutorial which will show you how to effectively select, search and evalution sources of information.
Effective Searching provides tips on how to find just the information you need without having to look through pages and pages of hits.    

Using Databases gives information about how to search a database effectively to find the information you need. It also tells how to know if the sources is realiable and how cite these sources.

Searching the Web gives recommendations for the best search engine to use for a particular subject or type of search.
The Information Literacy Tutorial from the University of Texas not only gives information on effective research, but allows you to evaluate how effective your research skills are.
