Oh no. You have a small research paper to write. You get to pick the topic, but you can't use the Internet as a source of information. What are you going to do?
After intense, lengthy consideration (at least two minutes), you decide you will write your paper on something close to your heart. Second thought, you will write your paper on something on which you will be able to find lots of information without a lot of trouble. Since there always seems to be stories in the news about President George Bush, he will be your topic.
Now that you have your topic, how are you going to find the information? After all, that instructor said you couldn't use the Internet as a resource.
Then inspiration strikes. You remember that lady from the library telling the class that there were places to get magazine and newspaper articles. She even showed the class where to find these things from the library's web site and how to use them. Hmmm. This might not be so bad afterall. If you can only remember . . . . . What were they called? How do you use them? If only you had paid attention . . . .
