NATURAL GAS TECHNICIAN TRAINING

Welcome to the Natural Gas Technician Program Page

What do you do with a degree in Natural Gas Transmission & Distribution?

There are many opportunities in the Natural Gas Transmission and Distribution industry for those with a strong technical background.  A degree from Barton Community College gives the individual the skills necessary for employment with minimal "on the job training” by the company.  Technicians are needed for corrosion control, gas measurement, instrumentation and electrical controls, pipeline construction, and programmable logic controller (PLC) programming.

What makes Barton’s program unique?

  • Only college in Kansas that offers an AAS degree in this field.
  • Fast track industrial training format.
  • State of the art classroom and equipment.
  • 6000 square foot indoor pipe field.
  • Instructors from industry.
