• Are professionals that provide leadership and management skillls during disasters.
• Provide leadership and guidance during all phases of the disaster (mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery).
• Are employed by the government at the city, county, state and federal levels as well as by business and industry. 

A large percentage of these professionals serve as part-time emergency managers with their full-time posistion being law enforcement (city, county or state), emergency medical services, or fire service professionals.  Because of this, many of these professionals lack formal education and training in this field. 

This program is designed to provide training and formal education for those entering the emergency management field as well as those currently in the field who require additional training and education.
