In efforts to build on last year's most successful event to date, which attracted nearly 600 Kansas students, Barton Community College is proud to announce the 6th Annual Jack Kilby Science Day. This event is designed to stimulate and enhance students' interest and excitement in science. Scheduled to present as our 2009 keynote speaker, is former astronaut Steve Hawley, current professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Kansas. Come join us and have some "Science Fun!"
The Jack Kilby Science Day will again offer participants the opportunity to meet and visit with each other and to learn during the day's expanded and updated activities. Students will choose from several fascinating hands-on mini-sessions, demonstrations, competitions, and experiments that they are sure to find enjoyable, exciting and educational in various areas of science and technology. The Jack Kilby Science Day festivities will also include the Math Bowl and Science Bowl Competitions again for students who choose to participate.
