LIST OF DEVELOPMENTAL AND ESOL COURSES

Barton’s mandatory placement policy requires enrollment in these based on a student’s assessment scores. These courses do not count toward graduation hours. Please refer to this list for appropriate sequencing. Both the English and Reading sequence or ESOL III must be completed for placement in English Comp. I. All courses must be completed with a C or better to move to the next level.

            May also enroll in ESOL Lab, Academic Vocabulary, Sentence Structure, and/or Conversational English   

ESOL II               6 credit hours
       May also enroll in ESOL Lab, Academic Vocabulary, Sentence Structure, and/or Conversational English

ESOL III              3 credit hours 
       May also enroll in ESOL Sentence Structure and/or Conversational English
