Thanks for visiting! Check back frequently for upcoming events featuring other career options!
The first All About Careers! event, which featured programs from the Workforce Training and Economic Development area, was a great success! We hosted about 40 people for the first event, and we are looking forward to the next event in this series, due mid-Fall 2015 Semester. It's Business, Technology, and Community Education's turn in the spotlight, and we look forward to hosting our next event during the Fall Semester 2015!
We will email superintendents, principals, and counselors in addition to sending postcards and posters for them to distribute through our area high schools. This page will be updated as information becomes available.
Read on for general information about the event that already occurred. We have some new ideas up our sleeves, but the general timeline will look similar to the agenda listed below. To find yourself or friends in photos from this event, check out Barton's Flickr account.
All About Careers! Workforce Training & Economic Development
For the first time, Barton is hosting a career program awareness event for superintendents, principals, counselors, students and/or family members to promote career opportunities associated with career and technical programs available at Barton Community College. The kick-off event of this series is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th, 2014.
Come join us on campus for sessions about each of the following career programs: Agriculture, Automotive, Computer-Aided Drafting, Early Childhood, Manufacturing Skills, and Natural Gas.
Instructor/Coordinators representative of each program will interact with guests in information sessions and tours of career and technical education facilities.
Registration opens at 9:15 am. From there, you'll have career sessions, tours, lunch, and a scheduled Q&A with faculty and staff. The event will conclude around noon.
More details are forthcoming via email and postcard invitations to superintendents, principals, counselors, students, and/or family members.
If this event interests you, please contact Karly Little, Coordinator of Community Education, at 620-792-9294 or firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
