The Shafer Gallery Christmas Tree Decorating Program began in 1992, the gallery's inaugural year. The first year eleven trees were decorated by area school children. This year, twenty trees will be decorated. Local doctors, banks, businessmen and individuals have donated the trees. This year, over 1,200 children will be participating in the program.
