The Scholarship Book (current edition). –by Daniel J. Cassidy This book is one of the most requested in our library. It lists scholarships that are available by a variety of occupations, heritage, need, etc. It also gives you the addresses of where to apply and instructions of how to apply for scholarships.
The College Cost & Financial Aid Book. –by the College Board This book contains a listing of various colleges across the United States and what it costs to attend their facility.
Bears Guide to Earning Degrees Nontraditionally. –by John B. Bear, Ph. D & Mariah P. Bear, M.A. This book contains a listing of almost 2000 schools, whether it is an accredited residential engineering program, correspondence training or just about anything in between.
Opportunities in....... –by Various Authors This series of books describes various careers by giving the reader a historical overview, discussions on advantages and disadvantages, personal traits needed, and inside advice from people in these careers.
Careers in Focus. –by the Ferguson Publishing Company This is another series of books that gives the reader an in-depth look at certain careers. Each book includes a field of occupations that explore aspects on each one of numerous careers.
Audio and video tapes vary in topics from Motivational, Career Planning, Career Aspects, Skills Identification, Goals Setting and many others.
Other resources may include: Professionals within the eight county area, various programs on CKEOC computers-such as; Discover and Choices, information from various internet sites, and descriptive occupational biography books.
These are just a few of the resources that we have available for use by our participants. Books and audio tapes are checked out to participants on a two-week "honor system" basis. Audio tapes are located in the Great Bend and Junction City offices. Videos are not available to check out but can be viewed in the CKEOC offices. Some books may not be available for check out but information may be copied from them.
