What are the opportunities?
The Barton County Community College Computer Club (BC5) offers students a chance to meet others with similar interests and take part in field trips to visit state of the art technologies companies. BC5 also hosts LAN parties twice per year. Gamers from all over the area have a chance to test their skill against one another.
Program and Career Choices
Computer Support Specialist
Computer support specialists provide technical assistance, support, and advice to customers and other users.
Network Administrator
Network Administrators solve computer problems and apply computer technology to meet the individual needs of an organization
Network Security or Computer/Digital Forensics
Computer security specialists plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security.
Digital forensics specialists work both in computer network security and in the investigation of crimes involving the use of computers and networks.
Computer Science/Computer Information Systems (CS/CIS)
Computer programmers conceive, design, and test logical structures for solving problems by computer. CS and CIS students at Barton will experience technical innovations in programming, advanced computing technologies.
Game Programming
As a CS or CIS major at Barton you have the opportunity to design, manipulate sprites, and double buffer your own game.
