Volunteer Opportunities in Transportation
Ellinwood
Ellinwood Commission on Aging/Heritage Senior Center provides transportation to Ellinwood residents for shopping, medical transportation and other needs for a fee. Volunteer drivers and dispatchers are used to run the program.
Great Bend
The RSVP Medical Transportation Program provides rides for any Barton County resident to medical appointments both within Barton County and in Salina, Hays, Hutchinson, Dodge City, Wichita and other locations in Kansas. This program is funded by Barton County and Barton County Commission on Aging. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for fuel costs based on actual miles driven. RSVP also has a van with a wheelchair lift that is available for individuals with a mobility impairment.
