Barton enrollments climb for sixth straight year

July 2, 2013
Barton Community College has been on a steady growth streak for six years now. The institution as a whole drew 17,819 students in 2012-13, which is an increase of about 4,000 students since the growth trend began in 2007-08, according to the unduplicated headcount data gathered at the close of the spring semester.

Barton Foundation Sporting Clay Shoot nets record proceeds

More than 160 shotgun-toting philanthropists turned out at the Barton Community College Foundation’s Sixth Annual Sporting Clay Shoot. The event raised about $10,000 in 2011 and $14,000 in 2012. This year the shoot broke the $15,000 mark.

The past few weeks have been a period of transition for Skylar Hill. He will graduate from Barton Community College in May, and the young pitcher for the Cougars recently signed to play baseball for Missouri Southern State University. Though these developments might have seemed like big news at the time, they pale in comparison to the moment his doctor told him he had cancer about two weeks ago.
