The Barton Community College Theatre Department has announced auditions for their upcoming production of William Inge’s play “Bus Stop,” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a small monologue.

The play is set in a diner about 30 miles west of Kansas City in early March 1955. An unexpected blizzard sidelines a bus, and its passengers are the victims of a lengthy layover that provides a perfect opportunity for an intriguing drama with a dash of comedy and romance.

Roles will be cast for five men and three women. Auditions are open to the public. The play will premiere at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. There will be an additional showing the following evening at 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact Barton Theatre Director Erin Renard at renarde@bartonccc.edu or (620)786-1187.
