A sizable crowd turned out to support music students at the annual Barton Endowment Music Concert on Thursday evening in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Enough people made the trek onto Barton’s campus to raise about $700 to go toward the Vocal and Instrumental Music Endowment Fund, which helps fund future scholarships to students interested in pursuing music as a career or to those students who want to continue to participate in music as a lifelong activity.

The department hands out 11 scholarships every year at about $1,000 each.

“I want to thank everyone for their support by attending the concert,” Instrumental Instructor Steve Lueth said. “We had a good crowd last night. It was almost full, and I think they were all very appreciative of the students and what they’ve accomplished this year.”
