A cookbook produced by the Barton Community College Foundation celebrates the College’s 40th anniversary. It also recognizes the relationships that have grown over the years among Barton’s students, faculty and staff, and the College’s strong ties with surrounding communities, whose leaders have played essential roles in Barton’s accomplishments.

“Working together socially or professionally usually includes enjoying good food, which enhances our work relationships,” said Darnell Holopirek, Barton’s Executive Director of Institutional Advancement.

With thoughts of those closely woven relationships, Holopirek and the Foundation reached out to those who have played a part in Barton’s success and asked them to send their favorite recipes for the cookbook. With the theme, “Feeding the Mind, Nourishing the Spirit,” Barton’s 40th Anniversary Cookbook features eight categories and more than 325 recipes submitted by Barton employees, alumni, students, and friends.

The cookbooks are available for sale, $12 each, at the Heart of Kansas store in downtown Great Bend or from the Foundation Office in the Student Union on Barton’s campus. Proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will be used to purchase outdoor furniture for the campus.

For more information contact the Foundation Office, 620-792-9308.
