Barton Community College enrollment records show that the college’s summer and fall 2009 enrollment has increased significantly over last year’s figures. Online enrollment showed the greatest increase at a record 27 percent over last year’s figures.

Overall, the number of credit hours generated by students enrolling in classes for summer and fall 2009 increased by 8.37 percent. The credit hours generated by instate students increased by 9.25 percent, Barton’s Dean of Administration Mark Dean reported.

Barton’s online enrollment for summer 2009 totaled 5,112 credit hours. That figure is 973 hours higher than last year’s summer online enrollment of 4,139. Barton’s fall online enrollment totaled 9,924 credit hours, a total of 2,220 hours more than last fall’s 7,704.

Overall, the college’s Barton County Campus, Fort Riley Campus and online enrollment for fall 2009 resulted in 44,245 credit hours, up 3,210 from last year’s fall semester hours of 41,035. Summer’s 2009 overall enrollment on both Barton campuses and online totaled 13,312 hours, up 1,235 from the summer 2008 total of 12,077.

Barton’s unduplicated headcount for fall 2009 is 7,173, compared to the fall 2008 headcount of 6,801. For summer 2009, Barton’s headcount was 3,302, while the summer 2008 headcount was 2,950.
