Members of the Community Student Organization at Barton Community College assemble personal care kits for Haiti earthquake survivors after collecting items and monetary donations from Barton employees and community members for the kits. They especially encouraged people to bring items to two Barton basketball games in February.

The students received 4,076 donated items, including hand towels, wash cloths, soap, tooth brushes and toothpaste, etc. They assembled 103 complete care kits (20 items each) and sent those kits plus 2,016 additional items to Heart to Heart International, headquartered in Kansas City, Kan., to help complete more than 100 additional kits for the Haiti earthquake survivors.
