Ralph and MiMi's commitment to our community extends far beyond service to our College. Both were from Ottawa, Kansas and moved to Great Bend in 1964 when Ralph was appointed Manager of the local Litwin's store. MiMi, who is a Registered Nurse, worked at CKMC for the next 25 years.
MiMi also made time to serve on the Barton County Health Advisory Board, American Red Cross, and Food Bank, frequently serving in leadership roles. She shares Ralph's interest in the Boy Scouts and served as a Den Mother. Closest to MiMi's heart is her church, Central Baptist, which involves her in many community activities.
Ralph is the type of person who does not say "yes" unless he can commit himself entirely to the project at hand. He is life-long Boy Scout, and has served Scouting in many posts, including President of the local Council. Ralph is an Eagle Scout and received one of Scouting's highest volunteer recognition - The Silver Beaver Award.
In addition to serving as Chair of the College's Foundation Board, Ralph has served in a similar capacity with the CKMC Foundation, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Development, and Kiwanis. He also helped start up the Historical Society Foundation and Streetscape.
Ralph and MiMi have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Following the demise of their son Michael, Ralph and MiMi established a scholarship fund in his memory at the College.
