Birger Sandzen and the
Prairie Print Makers

The Shafer Gallery is honored to present an exhibition of prints by Kansas art treasure and legacy Birger Sandzen. The exhibit will include a collection of 22 nail prints which showcase Sandzen’s bold personal graphic style. The opening reception on May 22 will include a gallery talk by the curator of the Sandzen memorial Gallery, Ron Michael.

In addition, the Shafer Gallery will exhibit works by members of the Prairie Print Makers from the Shafer memorial gallery permanent collection. This group included Sandzen, Herschel Logan, Leo Courtney, Gene Kloss and many others.

Reception music is sponsored by the Keenan Memorial Music Series.
