Fine Arts Auditorium Renovation

Barton performing students

Our Vision

Proposed Design From the very beginning, Barton’s performing arts program attracted first-rate instructors and enrolled numerous students interested in music or drama as a career or for personal enrichment. The College recognized the need and value to involve students in the arts to provide them with a well-rounded education. Plus, this was our opportunity to foster the arts and to work towards becoming the cultural arts center for the Barton County area.

For 40 years, Barton’s Fine Arts Auditorium has been home to vocal and instrumental performances, and theatre productions, as well as various lectures and educational presentations, such as The Jack Kilby Science Day event. In addition to these collegiate activities, other community organizations have benefited from our auditorium for such activities as youth dance recitals, Christian music performances and the prestigious Sunflower Spelling Bee.

Barton’s Performing Arts program has been a significant partner and leader in providing cultural activities and awareness for our area. We have provided a creative outlet of artistic expression for students and community members. As we work to facilitate a quality, growing program, we are constantly looking for innovation and new resources to satisfy our community and prepare our students. Now, more than ever, we must seek outside resources for help.

The Fine Arts Auditorium has served the college and community well over the years. Changes and improvements are necessary to advance our mission to provide state-of-the-art educational opportunities in the performing arts and to continue contributions to the enrichment of the cultural life of the college’s extended community. With your generous financial assistance, we will be able to recruit and enroll more students, employ additional faculty and staff, and upgrade the auditorium. Join us to sustain our vision for an outstanding Barton Performing Arts program.
