Barton Community College has partnered with CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, located in Great Bend Kansas, for more than 30 years. This partnership has led to unique offerings related to pension administration. CPI offers many incentives to complete this program. CPI was awarded the Workforce Partnership in Education award by Barton Community College in 2011.

CPI human resources director Erika Brining said CPI is aware of Barton’s level of commitment and the company is grateful.“We certainly wouldn’t be the quality of company we are today without the assistance of Barton,” said Brining. “Our relationships are integral to the initiatives we are trying to accomplish — not just now but ongoing.”

Barton currently offers a 10 Credit Hour Certificate.  This certificate instructs students in the four areas needed to successfully pass the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) certification awarded by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.  The newest offering at CPI is the Tax & Governmental Plan Consultant Certification.  Barton is currently working to update college certifications in this area.

In addition, Barton Community College also offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Management & Leadership.  This degree incorporates the Pension Administration courses as Elective Courses within the degree.
