General Educational Development (GED)

General Educational Development (GED) tests give a student the opportunity to earn a Kansas State High School diploma. This credential is recognized as a key to employment opportunities, advancement, further education and financial rewards.

Who is eligible for the GED Test?

Luke and English students

  • Anyone without a high school degree and
  • Not currently enrolled in high school and
  • Kansas Resident and
  • 16 years of age or older

How do I earn my high school diploma thru GED testing?
Students must pass five GED tests in the following subjects: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Math.

  • Small classes to help you prepare for the GED Test
  • Practice Testing
    *Official Practice Tests (OPT) must be passed before scheduling the GED Tests
  • Scheduling to take the GED Test

 

Can I prepare for the GED test online?
Yes. Students can either take classes at either of our two locations or thru
distance learning.

Is the GED test available in Spanish?
Yes, by appointment. However, please contact the Center for Adult Education for eligibility qualifications and more information.

What do I need to provide at time of enrollment?
You will need to present a valid Kansas Driver’s License, picture ID, or military ID. *If enrollee is under 18 years of age, student and parent/guardian will need to submit and sign the high school exit interview form.

What is the cost for GED testing?

  • GED including Orientation and classes: $125.00 Total *Includes: orientation fee, official practice tests, and the GED test
  • GED without Orientation: $135.00 Total *Includes: official practice tests and the GED test
  • Distant Learning program: $250.00 Total
    *Includes: virtual classroom seat, official practice tests, and the GED test

GED students

Distance Learning

The Distance Learning Program offers a student a way to prepare for the GED Test thru online learning. This online course is available for individuals who are working and cannot afford extra time to participate in a traditional classroom setting. Students can work from home at his/her own pace and proceed through the program with instructional support as needed.

This online resource can be used as a teacher-aided instructional tool or as a one-on-one tutoring resource with minimal guidance. Individualized instruction, testing, assignments and reporting are incorporated. This online program is easy to use and monitors a student’s progress throughout the duration of the program.
