Historical Statement

Barton County Community College was formed July 15, 1965, through an election by the people of Barton County, Kansas. The College was created to provide students in Barton County an opportunity to obtain an education at a low cost within commuting distance.

Ahead of Schedule - The construction on the Barton County Community Junior College is ahead of schedule and the buildings are beginning to take on the classroom look. The BCCJC is scheduled to be completed for the fall enrollment of 1969. The expected enrollment for the fall term is to be 300-400 students.
