Business, Accounting, and the Technical Accounting programs at Barton provide students with “The Edge.” They offer life-long skills that can be applied in both your professional and personal lives. Students learn specific skills and have the opportunity to transfer to a 4-year institution or use their skills learned to seek immediate employment.
The Barton Difference
Hands-on, small classes allow for more one-on-one explanation of the material. Barton instructors go above and beyond by providing special study sessions or making themselves available to students needing assistance. Quality instruction in addition to state-of-the-art facilities and an integrated curriculum that meets the requirements of today’s business world give Barton students the edge they need to be successful.
Hands-on Opportunities
Barton offers students the basic fundamentals for furthering their education to attain the Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant certification. Networking opportunities and business clubs, along with field trips to area businesses are among other opportunities. Students are also introduced to work skills that would be required on a job if they plan to seek immediate employment rather than continuing their education.
Program instructors receive numerous calls from local businesses with both part-time and full-time job opportunities for Barton students in these programs. Many students have taken advantage of these opportunities while attending school or upon graduation.
Job Opportunities
Students have opportunities in all facets of business, both public and private. It is imperative that a student have a working knowledge of accounting in every area of the business world and Barton provides this along with the technological skills to succeed in both arenas.
