Vision Statement
Technology at Barton County Community College should be used to enhance the learning experience of all its stakeholders. The College can fulfill its mission by ensuring that all learners have access to the necessary technologies and that they have the training and support to use them effectively.

AQIP Goal
Expand instructional technology vision for the next five years, including the implementation of technology upgrades in classrooms and labs and the creation of an equipment/software replacement/maintenance cycle.

Elucidation - Unifies all administrative modules into a flexible and robust relational database structure, which ensures the building of a digital campus, while enhancing information access. Technology Request Guidelines

Technology Requests - must address the following questions:

1. Is this technology part of basic infrastructure or an upgrade to existing infrastructure? Example - desktop PC, Lab PC, email, document storage or hardware. If so then submit need to Information Services, Electronic Services, or Physical Plant to be included in College hardware replacement Plans.

2. Is this a targeted application seeking to improve a process or enhance student learning? Example - Academic Systems. If so then follow guidelines below and submit plan to Computer Center for placement on the Technology Planning Web site.

 

Technology Goals and Objectives

Technology Plans must identify the following goals and objectives and the above overarching goals.

1. Access: ensure that all stakeholders have access to technology.

2. Support: ensure that the college has support strategies in place to meet current and new technologies demands.

3. Knowledge: ensure that all stakeholders have opportunities to increase awareness and knowledge of technology both new and existing.

4. Ethics: ensure that all stakeholders use technology in a lawful and ethical manner.

5. Assessment: assessing the impact of technology on teaching and learning.

6. Security: explain security processes and procedures
