Shown in the right column are just a few of the many training opportunities available online. Training courses and videos within the Learning Resource Library, GFC LearnFree, archived section of StarLink, Open Culture, and TED are free. Some of the courses/videos in the program section of StarLink have a fee.
Professional Development links can provide enhancement sessions ranging from 2 minutes to complete courses which require extended time commitment to review all information. Clicking on the suggested courses link will provide you with a description of potential sessions of interst, the length of time to complete, and the topics covered in the session.

The Professional Development Team, Human Resources, working in conjunction with the Title III Grant Multimedia initiative have developed several training videos. These videos are available for viewing by all Barton employees and are located on the left column under Professional Development Training Videos.

Courses Available Online
Learning Express Library - this Kansas State Online Library has classes for most Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.). There are also online books available; "Social Networking for Career Success", "The Complete Professional" and more! Log-in is necessary to see courses and books. Save items in "My Center" and return to it later. It is well worth the time!!
StarLink - StarLink provides quick training from Customer Service Phone Ettiquette to Assessment Training and seminars about topics including Stress to Creative Thinking. Possibilties are endless and time lengths are optional. To view, you will need to become a member-do so by contacting ReGina Casper requesting the institutional code. Once you log-in and get a password, archived options will be located under 'Manage Account' at the top of the page, and then under library.
TED- "Ideas Worth Spreading" maintains a vast number of videos; some short, some long. Topics are abundent and videos are educational, thought provoking, and stimulating.
GCFLearnFree.org - creates and provides quality, innovative online learning opportunities to anyone who wants to improve the technology, literacy and math skills needed to be successful in both work and life.
Mind Tools - "Essential skills for an excellent career". Mind Tools provides an assortment of short videow on Leadership, Stress Managment, Problem Solving, Creativity, Time Management, etc. It also has a great toolkit for your iPad.
Open Culture - "The best free cultural & educational media on the web." Courses from top universities, audio books, movies, lanuage lessons, videos and much more.
